Can we talk Mental Wellness for a minute?
It affects everyone.
Whether it is something you struggle with on occasion or you feel plagued with it daily or maybe a friend or a loved one, a coworker or neighbor suffers with mental health concerns. It comes in all shapes and sizes and varying degrees. It can be different for everyone. It can something that feels crippling or something that touches you at specific moments in time just briefly. But either way, I love that the topic or mental health and healing is something that is no longer pushed under a rug.
People are more open to share their experiences. I cannot tell you during the past 2 years specifically how many people have reached out to me for support specifically geared to very low emotions and anxious feelings. Don't get me wrong, mental health can affect people in other realms for which I too provide guidance and support, but during the past 2 years specifically these two have staggered in numbers in both adults and children. Many more people than ever before are not ashamed to talk about mental health. I LOVE THAT!
Low feelings are typically treated with cognitive-behavioral techniques and/or prescribed medication however provide significant relief for only about half the time. Essential oils can be super helpful because of their unique holistic benefits. Aromas are closely tied to memory and emotion in the brain. Some chemical constituents of essential oils are able to cross the blood-brain barrier to interact with neurotransmitters. Once essential oils reach the bloodstream, some constituents are able to reach every cell of the body in about 20 minutes.
Essential oils can help those with anxious feelings as our sense of smell is closely tied to the region of the brain that affects emotions, long-term memory as well as hormones. Because of this, essential oils have profound physiological and psychological effects and improve one’s quality of life.
